About the Event
Scott Herrick is the North Carolina State Director of Public Policy & Advocacy for the Alzheimer's Association. Scott began his career in investment management with Prudential Securities in 1999. Scott spent ten years in wealth management before changing careers to help the fight against Alzheimer's during his father's illness. Originally the Alzheimer's Association Ambassador to Congressman Howard Coble, Scott now works for the Association building grassroots advocacy, addressing federal policy impacting caregivers and disease research, and implementing state policy initiatives that support the State Alzheimer's plan. Scott is a member of the Alzheimer's Impact Movement, was on the NC Institute of Medicine State Alzheimer's Plan Steering Committee, and now serves on the State Alzheimer's Coalition. He is the State Affairs Lead for the Alzheimer's Association in North Carolina, and Scott also serves as a board adviser for COAACH, and African American Alzheimer's Disease outreach initiative in Greensboro. Scott has a Master's Degree in Conflict Resolution from UNCG, and specializes workplace and community organizational structure. Scott was a caregiver for his father, Terry,who was diagnosed with early-onset dementia in his late 50's, and passed away at age 70. Scott lives in Stokesdale with his wife Beth, and their two children, Madeline and Connor. In his spare time, Scott like's to build wooden boats.
